QLD HC review update

THE first meeting with industry over a review of the legislation controlling hydrocarbon refrigerants in Queensland took place on September 15 in Brisbane.

There are no terms of reference for the review and the general impression is that the aim of the review is to reduce, rather than strengthen, regulation governing hydrocarbon refrigerants.

VASA and Refrigerants Australia are engaging proactively in the process to ensure this does not happen and is concerned that certain industry players are trying to use this review as an attempt to remove restrictions on hydrocarbon refrigerants in Australia.

Queensland VASA members are encouraged to contact Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Anthony Lynham, who is responsible for hydrocarbon regulation in the Sunshine State, and express their views on Stafford@parliament.qld.gov.au or 07 3554 8100.
