VASA members make 14h round-trips to attend Redarc event in Adelaide

WHEN Redarc Electronics approached VASA about helping attract local members to a free event at its recently expanded factory and headquarters in Adelaide, nobody expected people to make a 14-hour round-trip to attend.

Yet VASA members Peter Henderson of Tumby Auto Electrical Services and Anthony Mugavin of Tony Mugavin Auto Electrical respectively travelled seven hours from Tumby Bay near Port Lincoln in the west and Warrnambool in the east. And back again.

The evening opened with a welcome talk from Redarc managing director, Anthony Kittel followed by technical sessions, product feedback focus groups and a factory tour.

Attendees were divided into groups for an in-depth look at some new and existing Redarc products including BCDC in-vehicle battery chargers, Tow-Pro electric brake controllers, RedVision total vehicle management systems, SmartCharge AC battery chargers and the full Hummingbird Electronics product catalogue.

Then, feedback sessions allowed the audience, made up of auto-electricians who use and install Redarc equipment on a daily basis, to provide direct feedback to the manufacturer.

For the factory tour, guests were guided through the facility and given a rundown of the operation from experts in each department including Test and Validation (including the new electromagnetic compatibility testing booth), Surface Mount Technology, Production, Engineering, Technical support and finally Sales and Marketing.

Redarc staff have passed on their thanks to all the VASA members who took the time to attend the evening and helped make the event a great success.
